Faced with an apparently unmoveable plan for extensive felling of trees around their community, people in the community of Big River have organised to call for a more sensitive approach and for local voices to be heard at the time that decisions are made. In conversation with Sherry, Tyson talks about the difficulties in getting local voices heard, and about their call for proper consultation at an early stage, for better protection of ecologically sensitive areas, for better consideration of impacts on peoples' homes, and for a shift away from clearcutting.
