Your listening bubble and audio escape hatch.\n\nIn this episode, we're taking things on a slightly different path.\nIn previous episodes, I've spoken to some incredible creative, innovative, fascinating people who have all been leading the way, shining lights, and carving a niche in their respective worlds. These worlds have often birthed new worlds in themselves, and the breadcrumb trails of creativity have been long and beautiful.\n\nThis time, I'm looking at the life of an individual from history. In this case, a film maker from France who specialised in the biological and in the majority of cases, under the surface of the ocean. His name is Jean Painlevé, born on the turn of the 20th century. Jean's creative output was radical, unlike anything else, and to be frank - REALLY WEIRD. Sometimes 'really weird' can just be another way of saying 'very cool' though - and truly this is the case. You'll hear more through the course of the podcast, and in some ways I've approached Jean with a meditative style, using various cues from his life as a launching point for thoughts and observations, but in essence, this should be a nice intro and taster of a world that contains bizarre beauty.\n\n•\n\nBlue Mind is an audio bubble providing an escape from the outside world. It’s a meditative project which will provide room for thought, calm, inspiration and information in the space of around an hour or so. There are guests, environment recordings, sound design elements and original music scoring, along with narration and guidance throughout, which concludes with a unique meditation.\n\nWe truly hope you find your comfortable place in the podcast and enjoy the experience!\nPlease follow the guests this week too as their work is outstanding, and genuinely inspiring.\n\nJEAN LINKS\nHome page • https://jeanpainleve.org/\nCriterion Collection • https://www.criterion.com/films/1286-science-is-fiction-23-films-by-jean-painlev\nThe Octopus • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFWJmFoBOI4\nIMDB • https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0656860/\nYo La Tengo 'The Sounds Of The Sounds Of Science' • https://yolatengo.com/forsale/the-sounds-of-the-sounds-of-science-mp3/\n\nComment, subscribe, share, get involved and let us know your thoughts.
