In this episode, listen to former graduate students turned educators within and outside of academia, discuss their pathways into teaching, how the book <strong>﻿</strong><a href=\"https://www.routledge.com/Teaching-Gradually-Practical-Pedagogy-for-Graduate-Students-by-Graduate-Students/Armstrong-Genova-Greenlee-Samuel/p/book/9781642671612?srsltid=AfmBOoqJ9tZx76o7O2ndxvJlEj2dj83cZIstrdl0TEHLQVEYQe-tWqr6\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Teaching Gradually, Pedagogy by and for graduate students</em></a><em> </em>was conceived at Cornell University's Center for Teaching Innovation and how lessons shared by graduate students have impacted the co-editors as well-as educators across the country. <a href=\"https://www.routledge.com/Teaching-Gradually-Practical-Pedagogy-for-Graduate-Students-by-Graduate-Students/Armstrong-Genova-Greenlee-Samuel/p/book/9781642671612?srsltid=AfmBOoqJ9tZx76o7O2ndxvJlEj2dj83cZIstrdl0TEHLQVEYQe-tWqr6\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Teaching Gradually</a> was released in October 2021 by Stylus Publishing Company (Acquired by Routledge/Taylor and Francis group in 2023) as a compilation of short 2000-word essays on practical pedagogy contributed by graduate students across universities in Canada and the United States.</p><p><br></p><p>Dr.&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.bowdoin.edu/profiles/faculty/k.armstrong/index.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Kacie Armstrong</a> is now a visiting assistant professor of Psychology at Bowdoin College, <a href=\"https://www.chem.udel.edu/people/lgenova\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Dr. Lauren Genova</a> is an assistant professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Delaware, <a href=\"https://www.jwgreenlee.net/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Dr. John Wyatt Greenlee</a> is a medieval historian turned professional cartographer, running his own business <a href=\"http://surprisedeelmaps.com\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">surprisedeelmaps.com</a> where he takes requests to make custom maps and <a href=\"https://teaching.cornell.edu/person/derina-samuel\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Dr. Derina Samuel</a> is the Associate director of graduate student development and leads the international teaching assistant program in the <a href=\"https://teaching.cornell.edu/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Center for Teaching Innovation</a>, also known as the CTI, at Cornell University. <a href=\"https://www.colorado.edu/center/teaching-learning/our-people/preston-cumming\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Dr. Preston Cumming</a> is the Graduate Professional Development Lead at CU Boulder, and joined in for this two-part episode.</p>","author_name":"Center for Teaching & Learning (CU Boulder)"}
