They can also inspire a lot of cringe, particularly as we deal with the realities of aging and disability.</p><p><em>Crazy Old Lady</em>, an Argentinian film (available on Shudder), brings something new to the table. Unlike other entries in this subgenre, the<em> </em>film allows us to both question and understand the reality of our central character. Throw in themes of caregiving and how ageism – and the hagsploitation genre as a whole – is built on our fears of aging and illness, and this movie is about a lot more than initially meets the eye.</p><p>Want to share your thoughts on the film?
