This week we have the pleasure of welcoming Melissa Kramer to the podcast. Melissa Kramer is the founder and driving force behind Live UTI Free, a global advocacy platform dedicated to empowering individuals affected by urinary tract infections (UTIs). Melissa’s personal struggle with recurrent UTIs and the lack of comprehensive, accessible resources led her to create a space where patients could find evidence-based information, support, and tools to advocate for their health.
Melissa expands on her own health journey and how this led her to establish Live UTI Free. She explains how she started this organisation, its aim, and how it has evolved since its inception 8 years ago. Melissa also outlines some of the amazing work Live UTI Free is doing - including building a community, raising awareness, and providing education on intimate health concerns, especially for those suffering with recurrent UTIs and associated symptoms.
Melissa goes on to detail some of the upcoming research projects Live UTI Free is currently developing, with the aim of generating understanding, diagnostics, and solutions for women's health concerns and their own bodies.
