Today we are incredibly lucky to welcome back Inna Duckworth to the show. Inna is going to be talking us through the oral microbiome and nasal microbiome - both of which are now available to be tested with ScreenMe's general 'Microbiome Test' (upon your practitioner's recommendation only).
Inna explains the importance of the nasal microbiome, including its role in respiratory health, protection against infections and immune regulation. She also discusses links between the nasal microbiome and conditions such as allergies and asthma. Inna then goes on to detail the role of the oral microbiome in health, including gum disease, cardiovascular health and even fertility.
Inna highlights the role that testing can play in providing an insight into these microbiomes, as well as the differences between some of the common tests / testing methods. After this, Inna and Jess chat about some of the everyday management techniques and actives that can influence these microbiomes. This includes diet, smoking, oral hygiene, specific practices and products.
