In today’s episode, Remi and Jess focus on a discussion around how ethnic minorities and women from lower socioeconomic backgrounds are able to access health information, care and support.
Remi has a passion for impacting women’s health beyond the hospital walls. This has led to her active involvement in health education and femtech. She is a cofounder of Chat Her Box (@chatherbox), a women’s health initiative which aims to empower women. She explains to us some of the amazing work she is doing through Chat Her Box, including how it works, how to get involved and future plans!
Remi is passionate about providing a two-way dialogue between practitioners and the communities they serve - with this allowing people to feel empowered with their health. Remi and Jess discuss the importance and the role of educators in providing people with knowledge of the different options available to them, but ultimately allowing them to choose what is right for them. This includes understanding and allowing for different preferences, priorities and necessities within communities.
