Russ is back in the hot seat once more, joined as always by Waggie, and this week we’re joined by Steve from NK Electricals, regular match-ball sponsor and County’s 'Electrician'
As always, we’ve got plenty to talk about, starting with the nil-nil draw away at Sheffield Wednesday. With Russ watching from the ground, Waggie and Steve watching on the telebox, we get the 2 different views of the game. Was it a good point or two points dropped? A clean sheet is always welcome, and with County having three times as many shots as Wednesday (18 to 6), with both sides only managed two on target, is this another game we should have won? Or is that particular saying starting to get a little tired? We also look at how we’d feel if the season continues with the win-loss-win-loss pattern, with the occasional draw thrown in. What needs to change for us to become more consistent?
We also discuss a great full debut for Jobe, who came into the side for a poorly Pye. Does he stay in or not?
We then look ahead to the first of three straight home games, with Peterborough the visitors to Edgeley Park. Russ is apprehensive after Peterborough sacked their manager and could potentially have an 18-year-old centre-back and a 16-year-old centre-back playing, while Waggie is, obviously, positive about the result. Steve sits somewhere in the middle, so we’ve got all bases covered!
We also have a chat about matchday rituals and discover just how different Steve’s is to Russ and Waggie's. Working on matchdays means Steve is around the ground roughly four hours before kick-off, giving him a very different experience and a lot more checks to complete with everything becoming increasingly digital, some interesting details in there as well.
The international break is officially upon us, and County have two call-ups (Whatmuff and Andresson), although only Whatmuff counts towards a match suspension. Luca Ashby-Hammond looking set to step in as his replacement. What do you make of the situation, County fans? We all give our thoughts.
