The NHL offseason is officially in full swing, and Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin have plenty to break down on today's episode of Oilersnation Everyday.
The boys kick things off by continuing their discussion surrounding the Edmonton Oilers' hiring of Mike Babcock as the franchise's next head coach. Following his introductory press conference, there are still plenty of questions surrounding what this new chapter will look like. Did Babcock do enough to ease concerns from fans? Has he truly evolved from the coach who found himself out of the NHL years ago? Or will many of the same concerns follow him into Edmonton? Tyler and Liam will share their thoughts on the reaction from Oil Country and discuss what comes next for the organization.
Before getting too deep into the Oilers conversation, they'll also tackle one of the busiest days of the NHL offseason so far. Trades were flying around the league, highlighted by the Calgary Flames acquiring Simon Nemec, while William Eklund was dealt to the Buffalo Sabres as teams continued reshaping their rosters ahead of the NHL Draft and free agency. The boys will break down the biggest moves, discuss the winners and losers, and look at how the flurry of activity could impact the rest of the offseason.
Later in the show, DJ Bean from What Chaos! joins the program to discuss Mike Babcock's introductory press conference, the reaction around the hockey world, and whether he believes the veteran coach can successfully return to the NHL and lead a Stanley Cup contender.
