Get more from every stroke in this 25-minute easy follow-along rowing workout to build fitness, improve your technique and enjoy rowing more.

You don't need to row perfectly. You just need to engage with what you're doing — as you RowAlong with me, think about posture, feel where power comes from, use your legs, and connect that drive through your body into the handle. Then let the recovery happen in the right order.

For most of us, keeping this simple idea in mind cleans up a huge amount of the stroke:

Legs → Body → Arms

Arms → Body → Legs

And there's a real payoff for you.

When you engage properly, you give yourself a better chance of getting an effective full-body workout, using more muscle, putting more useful power into each stroke, improving fitness, rowing more comfortably, and wanting to come back again.

You don't need perfection. Get on. Pay attention. Use your body. Make the workout count.

============Quick note: I know another rowing channel uses “Just Row” as its brand. That’s an unfortunate coincidence here, and I’m absolutely not saying you shouldn’t do his workouts. My point is simply that you shouldn’t climb onto a rowing machine and switch off mentally — his brand and the message of this video are unrelated.====================

Today's workout for you: 21 minutes at low intensity, followed by a 4 minute cool down at around 20 strokes per minute. Match the rate and choose the intensity that works for you. You make this workout what you want it to be.

▶️ ROWALONG DAILY WORKOUTS PLAYLIST ON YOUTUBE

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8ookhrQKwvKEfSfOxp73vX02j8LrtUil

Chapters

00:00 Welcome & today’s RowAlong

00:48 Set your resistance

01:21 Seat position & posture

02:42 Foot stretcher setup

03:57 Handle grip

04:39 Start rowing

05:08 Build the catch position

07:16 Check your posture

09:06 Switch on your core

10:51 Start adding leg power

12:12 Connect feet and hands

14:32 Use the legs first

16:14 Finish the stroke

18:28 Think about your positions

19:40 Do you really need perfect technique?

21:56 Legs-body-arms / arms-body-legs

23:06 Why efficiency matters

25:39 4 minute cool down

30:07 Post-row stretching

41:07 The real point of today’s row

42:54 Don’t just row — engage with it

43:18 Get the best workout you can

44:30 The message in one line

46:32 Row well, be well

⚠️ Health Warning:

Please make sure you’re fit enough for exercise before taking part.
