The NHL season is HERE, and the DFO Fantasy Show is officially back for the regular season! 🏒 Brock Seguin breaks down the fantasy fallout from the blockbuster trade sending Kirill Marchenko to the Toronto Maple Leafs and Matthew Knies to the Columbus Blue Jackets. What does the move mean for Marchenko’s fantasy ceiling in Toronto? Can Knies maintain his value in Columbus? And how could Marchenko’s arrival impact Gavin McKenna’s role on the Maple Leafs’ top power-play unit? Then, it’s time to attack Week 1. Brock introduces the new Strength of Schedule and “True Games” system before identifying some of the best streaming targets to open the fantasy hockey season. Players discussed include: 🏒 Gabe Perreault & Oliver Bjorkstrand — New York Rangers ⚔️ Ivan Barbashev, Brett Howden & Victor Olofsson — Vegas Golden Knights 🐆 Carter Verhaeghe & Anton Lundell — Florida Panthers 🛢️ Vasily Podkolzin — Edmonton Oilers With the Rangers owning one of the best schedules of Week 1, Vegas drawing favourable matchups against Chicago, Anaheim and Vancouver, and Podkolzin getting an opportunity on Edmonton’s top power-play unit, there are plenty of early-season waiver-wire options that could help you start the year 1-0. Plus, Brock explains how matchup strength, projected starting goalies and light nights factor into the revamped Strength of Schedule tool. The mock drafts are over. The rankings are set.
