CHERYL KING: CHERYL KING: Cheryl is a Georgia real estate attorney and Director of the REALsmart real estate school. She builds and delivers classes weekly for agents, lenders, and attorneys, focused on contracts and compliance, and is a certified instructor for the Georgia Association of REALTORS® Partners in Education Program. She serves on the Board of Governors of the Atlanta REALTOR® Education Foundation and is a member of the GAR Forms, Professional Development, and By-Laws & Policies Committees and the NAR Legal Action Committee. She co-hosts the REAL Smart podcast with Maura Neill. A REALTOR® member for teaching, she doesn't sell real estate — she teaches. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Louisiana State University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Richmond School of Law, where she was Managing Editor of the Journal of Law and Technology and was named the University of Richmond's "Woman Lawyer of the Year" by the National Association of Women Lawyers.
MAURA NEILL (ABR, AHWD, C2EX, e-PRO, GRI, HFR, MRP, PSA, MA): Maura Neill is the 2027 First Vice President of Georgia REALTORS® and a member of the Atlanta REALTORS® Association. A second-generation REALTOR®, she’s been in the business since 2001 and is an active agent with RE/MAX Around Atlanta, where she and her husband and business partner, Ben, represent buyers and sellers every day. Education runs through everything Maura does. Before real estate, she taught at Florida State University and the University of Phoenix. Today she’s a national real estate instructor and a sought-after leadership speaker, and she sees teaching, for clients and fellow agents alike, as a core part of being a REALTOR®. She holds a BA, BME, and MA from Florida State (go ‘Noles!) and is a graduate of the Harvard Negotiation Institute. Nationally, Maura serves on NAR’s Public Policy Coordinating Committee. She’s a Platinum R RPAC investor, a member of the RPAC President’s Circle, and was inducted into the NAR RPAC Hall of Fame at the $75,000 level in 2025. Maura and Ben live in Sandy Springs with their Weimaraner, Luna.
