In this week's episode of Atypical Daydream, host Josh Caldwell sits down with his oldest family friend Joanna Athey, and then with his daughter June, recorded when she was four years old.


Joanna shares the story of a childhood defined by independence and early awareness of what the world expected from her, and how a solo trip to Europe at fifteen, ending near Istanbul, confirmed that the only way forward was through the wider world. Then June Caldwell, age four, tells two very short stories. One involves Klaus Kinski and a flying mask. One involves booby traps and a sandwich you do not want to eat.
