Meanwhile, top seeds Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner safely progress, with Djokovic clocking up yet another milestone with 90 match wins now achieved at each of the 4 Grand Slams.
With Wimbledon Champion Barbora Krejickova ousted by Elena-Gabriela Ruse, and Karolina Pliskova retiring after 3 points against Jasmine Paolini, it hasn’t been the best of days for the Czech ladies. Harriet Dart and Katie Boulter also bow out, leaving no British women in the third round.
