This week on Tommy Talks,Tommy Sheridan is joined by Will Hayes, former AFL player and third-generation horse trainer at Lindsay Park, for a massive episode ahead of the 2026 Melbourne Cup Carnival!
Will opens up about the breaking news surrounding Mr Brightside, why the champion has been sent for a spell and whether his autumn campaign could be his last.
We also dive into one of racing's biggest talking points: Ka Ying Rising's shock defeat in The Everest. Did Zac Purton get the tactics wrong? Could the result have been different with a better barrier? Will gives us his perspective on the ride, the conditions and what comes next for the Hong Kong superstar trained by his father, David Hayes.
Plus, Will shares the incredible story of how Mr Brightside helped turn around Lindsay Park, what it's really like running a racing empire alongside his brothers Ben and JD, and his remarkable journey from the Western Bulldogs to Carlton while juggling 3am starts at the stables.
And with Derby Day and the Melbourne Cup fast approaching, Will gives us his horses to follow for the 2026 Melbourne Cup Carnival!
