There were 3 individual day festivals headlined by Pitbull who, I have been advised is Mr Worldwide which I was also advised is a good thing. I have no idea what that means and should probably find out, either way from the footage I’ve seen, this involved a significant portion of the audience dressing up in bald caps and suits. The second day was headlined by everyone’s favourite musical Glaswegian, Lewis Capaldi - this is the event we attended, and the weekend was wrapped up in a classical style by Alfie Boe along with the obvious choice of DJ Yoda who provided the closure set.

Although Mr Capaldi wasn’t available to chat we still ventured across Leeds to the site of many a historical gig including The Boss, U2, Michael Jackson and more recently Ed Sheeran when the opening act was Lewis himself. We did manage to chat with main stage opener and Lewis’ fellow Scot Kerr Mercer as well as Ber the mid western musician who previously lived in Leeds. Both were absolutely delightful to talk to and delivered flawless sets to enthusiastic crowds, if you get the chance to see either or both, take it. Given that Lewis seemed to have a hand in selecting the other acts, they were all charismatic, however these two genuinely delivered authentic performances that had heartfelt stories along with a nice dose of wit.

Whilst I’m not the most die hard fanatic when it comes to Lewis Capaldi, his set absolutely flew by - I was thoroughly entertained, his band were fantastic musicians and that man’s voice is freaking ridiculous. All I can say is well done, Sir and welcome back - I hope he stays healthy and continues to entertain, he seems like a good egg.
","author_name":"wheninyorkshire"}
