Kate Waterford reports on geopolitics as a mainstream board risk, with cyber as a priority and practical near-term de-risking actions. Claire Schonfeld relays ASIC chair Joe Longo on growing complexity, judgment beyond compliance, innovation, and AI as board-level priority.</p><p><br></p><p>It was a pack day of sessions including chair expectations in recruitment, payroll compliance risks and data sovereignty, Pamela Hanrahan’s regulatory update (hard/soft regulation and AI’s impact), future-proofing director skills through digital and AI literacy, and Chris Bradley’s optimistic “strategic realities” framing of global shifts.</p><p><br></p><p>We'll be back next week with day two.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Upcoming TOB Events</strong></p><p><a href=\"https://helgasvendsen.com.au/community/events/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>All events</strong></a></p><p><br></p><p><strong>You might want to:</strong></p><p>Join the <a href=\"https://www.facebook.com/groups/TakeOnBoard/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Take on Board Facebook community</a></p><p>Join the<strong> </strong><a href=\"https://www.linkedin.com/groups/13955373/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Take on Board LinkedIn community</a></p><p><a href=\"https://mobile.twitter.com/takeonboard\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Follow along on Twitter</a></p><p><a href=\"https://helgasvendsen.com.au/work-with-me/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Work with me</a></p><p><a href=\"https://helgasvendsen.com.au/work-with-me/governance/kickstarter/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Join the Take on Board: Kickstarter group program</a></p><p><a href=\"https://helgasvendsen.com.au/work-with-me/governance/accelerator/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Join the Take on Board: Accelerator group program</a></p><p><a href=\"https://helgasvendsen.com.au/about/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Find out more about me</a></p><p><a href=\"https://helgasvendsen.com.au/contact\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Contact me</a></p>","author_name":"Helga Svendsen"}
