Since then, the song has become an anthem for Cork, voted as the city's favourite song in 2020 and re-entering the iTunes downloads charts at no.2 following the release of the TV show 'The Young Offenders.'</p><p><br></p><p>But what are the origins of the song and what makes it the perfect Cork anthem? To answer these questions I will be speaking to the band's songwriter, bassist, and lead vocalist Paul Linehan.
