Francisco is a leading expert on Latin America internationally, the National Secretary of the Venezuela Solidarity Campaign, a Cuba Solidarity Campaign EC member, former head of Latin American studies at Middlesex University, co-editor of the widely praised Right-Wing Politics in the New Latin America, and was a socialist trade union militant in Chile in the 1970s.
