ANA Flight 60 was the start of a series of accidents in Japan that rocked the publics confidence in aviation.
On the night of February 4th, 1966, ANA Flight 60 was operated by a Boeing 727-100 flying through clear weather on approach to Haneda when the pilot radioed that they would land visually without instruments, all 133 people died when the plane mysteriously crashed into Tokyo Bay about 10km from the airport. This accident was the worst accident involving a single plane until JAL123.
