Going deeper, Fatphobia&nbsp;<a href=\"https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/equate\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">equates</a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/fatness\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">fatness</a>&nbsp;with&nbsp;<a href=\"https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/ugliness\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">ugliness</a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/inferiority\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">inferiority</a>, and&nbsp;<a href=\"https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/immorality\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">immorality</a>. Subjecting&nbsp;<a href=\"https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/people\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">people</a>&nbsp;to&nbsp;<a href=\"https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/fat\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">fat</a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/phobia\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">phobia</a>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<a href=\"https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/weight\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">weight</a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/stigma\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">stigma</a>&nbsp;can be very&nbsp;<a href=\"https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/harm\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">harmful</a>, not just to people who are fat but also to anyone else who has been co-opted by a system that designates only one “correct” body size or weight. But is fatphobia also an intersectional issue or opression? How does it relate to race, disability, colonisation and enslavement? In this episode we'll be discussing fatphobia and its intersectionality with racism. To do so, we are going to talk to Caleb Luna, a writer, fat activist and professor in the US.
