While things didn’t pan out well for Netflix’s <a href=\"https://collider.com/tag/resident-evil/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><em>Resident Evil</em></strong></a> series, which was canceled after just one season in 2022, <a href=\"https://collider.com/tag/movie/mortal-kombat-ii/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><em>Mortal Kombat II</em></strong></a> is <a href=\"https://collider.com/mortal-kombat-2-global-box-office-80-million/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>cruising at the box office</strong></a>.</p><p><br></p><p><a href=\"https://collider.com/mortal-kombat-review-hbo-max/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>In 2021</strong></a>, director <strong>Simon McQuoid</strong> kicked off a new iteration of <em>Mortal Kombat</em> feature films with a movie focused on Cole Young (<strong>Lewis Tan</strong>)<strong> </strong>that also included a slew of other fan-favorite characters like Sonya Blade (<a href=\"https://collider.com/mortal-kombat-jessica-mcnamee-interview-sonya-blade/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Jessica McNamee</strong></a>), Kano (<strong>Josh Lawson</strong>), Jax (<strong>Mehcad Brooks</strong>), Liu Kang (<strong>Ludi Lin</strong>), Kung Lao (<strong>Max Huang</strong>), and many more.
