Why we laugh, what we laugh at - and what it reveals about us as Black British people.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Gina Yashere exemplifies what many see as a Black British talent drain to the US. In 2008, she became the first Briton to perform on <em>Def Comedy Jam</em> and has gone on to star in her own comedy specials on Netflix and to create, produce and act in the hit sitcom <em>Bob Hearts Abishola,</em> just confirmed for its 4th&nbsp;season on CBS.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Dane Baptiste made history in 2014 as the first Black British act to be nominated for a comedy award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
