What happens when an aerospace engineer and Yale MBA gets laid off after doing everything "right"? In this episode of The Guiding Voice, Lakiesha Tomlin joins host Naveen Samala to share the unfiltered reality of leaving the 9-to-5 rat race, building real financial cushions, and using simple, disciplined trading to fund two multi-month sabbaticals across Europe and the US.

Lakiesha breaks down why safety is often the riskiest career strategy, how to calculate your personal "freedom number," why trading is deliberately boring rather than glamorous gambling, and how to detach who you are from what you do.

Key Takeaways:

The myth of corporate loyalty and the 12-year wake-up call

The difference between arbitrary savings and a purposeful "freedom number"

The 90-day sprint method for mastering any high-income skill

Why "boring" trading consistently beats hype-driven gambling

How to detach your personal identity from your job title
