Toronto finally found timely hitting after struggling all night with runners in scoring position, but the comeback was short-lived.
With Tyler Rogers and Louis Varland unavailable, the Blue Jays were forced into a difficult bullpen decision, turning to rookie CJ Van Eyk in a high-leverage situation. The young right-hander surrendered two runs while recording just one out, allowing Boston to reclaim the lead for good.
