It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of ONR is ready to massage your mind feelings with an hour of Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers losing two straight, Saturday's matchup against the Canucks, Connor McDavid's comments on being run into the post, line combinations, and more.
We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the Edmonton vs. Vancouver multi-sport battle happening in the city on Saturday, and what the boys would call such a coincidence. Liam followed up with a secondary delicious debate about Connor McDavid getting run into the post by Drew Helleson, and what everyone thought about the play and the outcome. As you'll hear, the boys got pretty heated about the play and whether or not there was even a penalty on the initial post into the post.
Shifting gears, the guys turned the podcast to the Oilers losing their last two games, and whether Edmonton needs to change things up with their shootout order. Given that the boys have only won 1-of-3 shootouts, the guys wondered whether there are any other guys on the roster that have a move worth trying. Shifting gears. the guys looked at Matt Tomkins getting the start again last night with Tristan Jarry out with illness. Seeing as no Oilers fans expected him to play in the NHL this season, his two starts with Edmonton have been impressive despite the mixed results.
Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of betting talk before wrapping up the podcast with a round of Ask the Idiots and score predictions ahead of Saturday's matchup with the Canucks. With the second month of the season well underway, the boys had plenty to talk about after what was another wild week for the Edmonton Oilers. Either way, there is nothing better than the ol' Oilers rollercoaster to get the boys going.
