The murders led to the wrongful conviction and subsequent&nbsp;<a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pardon\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">pardoning</a>&nbsp;of another farmer who lived nearby,&nbsp;<a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Allan_Thomas\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Arthur Allan Thomas</a>.
