She used her poor upbringing, her fragile psyche, and her long-standing problems with relationships and narcotics as sources of inspiration. Ditlevsen wrote over 30 books, including her acclaimed memoirs,&nbsp;<em>The Copenhagen Trilogy</em>.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Danish translator&nbsp;<strong>Michael Favala Goldman</strong>&nbsp;(b. 1966) is also a poet, educator and jazz clarinetist.&nbsp;<em>Dependency&nbsp;</em>by Tove Ditlevsen is among his seventeen translated books, while his 2021 poetry collection&nbsp;<em>Small Sovereign&nbsp;</em>won first place in the Los Angeles Book Festival.
