In this episode, I sat down with Hame Sele, NRL star, fashion brand founder, and proud father to uncover the story behind his incredible journey from the rugby field to the world of business.
Hame has played over 80 first-grade NRL games for the Dragons, Panthers, and South Sydney, and even represented Tonga on the international stage. But behind the scenes, his story is one of resilience, grit, and a deep drive to build something more, especially after facing back-to-back injuries and a major health scare that nearly ended everything.
This is the first podcast Hame’s ever done, and he holds nothing back. He shares what it was like coming back from injury, dealing with fear and self-doubt, and how those painful setbacks helped shape the man he is today. We dive deep into how becoming a father changed everything for him, helping him shift his mindset from “trying to impress everyone” to building a life and legacy for his kids.
Hame also opens up about launching his fashion label, ROMEO Collection, with his wife, a raw and honest look at what it’s really like starting a business from scratch while juggling rehab, training, and raising four daughters. He talks us through the behind-the-scenes of design, sampling, and how building a brand helped him rediscover his purpose outside of sport.
