In 1985, nineteen-year-old SUNY Geneseo student Chris Di Cesare began hearing his name called inside room C2D1 of Erie Hall. What followed, according to Chris and those around him, developed into apparitions, unexplained movements, attempts at communication with a presence they called Tommy, alleged physical attacks and a blessing performed by a Catholic priest. Unlike many campus ghost stories, the case was documented while it was still unfolding through journals, photographs and witness accounts, although the identity of “Tommy” remains unresolved.
