This week's episode looks at the various entities that haunt the Ancient Ram Inn. We share an introduction to the topic and then one, scary story about a haunted pub.
The Ancient Ram Inn has been standing since 1145, after being originally built as a place to house the workers, who were constructing the nearby St. Mary's Church. Gloucestershire, the county where the Ancient Ram Inn is located, seems to be a hotbed for ghostly activity. While the inn itself is known for its hauntings, it's not the only place in the area with supernatural tales to tell.
Two other notable locations in Gloucestershire said to be infested with ghosts are the Woodchester Mansion and St. Briavels Castle. Now, you might be wondering if there's any connection between these three haunted spots. Well, it turns out that there might be something more to it.
From an archaeological perspective, the Ancient Ram Inn holds a unique position. It's situated right on the crossroad of two key, Ley lines. Ley lines are believed to be straight lines that connect several places of geological and spiritual importance. These lines often pass through sites like prehistoric burial grounds, mystical locations such as stone circles, and even ancient churches and cathedrals.
