God never intended for you to experience Him through someone else's relationship with Him.
In Exodus 33, the Israelites stood at the doors of their tents watching the presence of God descend upon Moses. They could see the cloud. They could witness the encounter. But Moses stepped inside and spoke with God face to face, as a man speaks with a friend. Through Jesus, that same invitation has been extended to us.

But face to face encounters change us. They require a willingness to come boldly, release what is comfortable, take a risk, and believe that when God speaks, He means what He says.
This is an invitation to stop standing outside watching and step into the relationship Jesus made possible.
