Ger Duffy will be climbing 20,305ft in the Nepalese Himalayas with the aim of raising a euro for every foot of the climb. The proceeds of the challenge will go towards the Irish Cancer Society and Mayo SPCA.</p><p>His attempt to summit Island Peak will take 23 days to complete and the Mayo man will have to contend with high altitudes, long days, nerve-jangling crevasses and glaciers.</p><p><br></p><p>Ger has set up a fundraising page GersEverestExpedition on idonate.ie and he will be documenting his journey on social media in the months ahead.</p><p>He has been telling Midwest Radio’s John Morley more about this ambitious challenge. </p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>","author_name":"Midwest Radio"}
