Si ces deux secteurs peuvent apparaître de prime abord incompatibles, le nucléaire est pourtant utilisé depuis longtemps dans le secteur spatial et fait l'objet d'un regain d'intérêt tout particulier, à l'ère du New Space et à l'aube d'un nouvel âge de l'exploration spatiale.
