Digital technologies and diplomacy have become an integral part of public engagement. In that regard, Geneva plays an important role as one of the world’s leading digital hubs. To that end, Haritz Echarren (IRD) and Markéta Šonková (IRD) spoke with Dr. Jovan Kurbalija, the Executive Director of DiploFoundation, an international non-profit organization dedicated to building expertise and conducting research in digital diplomacy, internet governance, and technology policy. They discussed a number of topics ranging from societal effects and implications of generative AI, trends in digital diplomacy, digital governance models, long-termism and monopolies, as well as digital divides between developing and developed countries.
