Did you know that the inception of the radio series came after a successful run of Columbia Pictures films, in which Chester Morris had also starred as detective Boston Blackie? Originally transitioning the role to radio for NBC in 1944, Morris had only appeared in the episodes that dated from June 23rd to September 15th, until passing along the role to Richard Kollmar due to conflicts in time commitment.
