Jermaine is the founder and CEO of Small Town Animation Studios (smalltownanimationstudios.com) and The Animation TV Network (animationtv.tv). At the age of 32, Jermaine was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and spent 5 consecutive days in ICU following a blood sugar reading of 1,100mg/dL (61mmol/L)!


Jermaine takes us through his initial struggle to adapt to his new ‘Diabetic life’, insulin affordability in the US, and how he quickly gained a new, more positive outlook on life.


Jermaine is the creator of the world’s first Type 1 Diabetic superhero - Gumshe (gumshe.com). Gumshe: The Type 1 Protector is a 3D animated health and wellness movie about an African American Type 1 Diabetic superhero named Gumshe.


The purpose of this movie is to Entertain, Educate and Empower. Not only do people benefit from the story and its perspective, but also a portion of sales and licensing for the Gumshe brand goes towards insulin assistance in underserved communities worldwide.


Following Eoin’s own Animation background, he has a ‘great appreciation for the meticulous hard work and time that goes into getting an animation film to screen’.
