In Toronto, she founded OverCat, a communications and influencer agency, consulting for brands such as Victoria&#39;s Secret and Estée Lauder and stars like Jennifer Lawrence. Cosmetics Magazine named her a top public relations executive, and she chaired communications for the Fashion Cares AIDS fundraiser. Her memoir, The Undertow of Grief: Navigating Intergenerational Trauma, follows the Holocaust&#39;s impact across four generations of women.</p><p><br></p><p>In this episode, Audrey shows how unspoken trauma is passed down. She describes her mother&#39;s refusal to face her past and the loss of both parents in 2008, when her mother ended her life and her father died alongside her. After learning her daughter, Lindsay, had hidden her own grief to protect her, Audrey traveled with her to Auschwitz for PBS NewsHour on the 80th anniversary of its liberation. She explains why her mother rejected the word &quot;survivor,&quot; why Audrey sees survival as the start of a new battle, and why her book offers no tidy ending. Grief and joy coexist, she says, but grief never leaves, and she closes with a case for small kindnesses and her Aunt Sheila&#39;s motto: just show up.</p><p><br></p><p>Connect with Audrey Hyams Romoff:</p><p><u><a href=\"https://www.audreyhyamsromoff.com\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Website</a></u></p><p><u><a href=\"https://www.instagram.com/audreyhyamsromoff/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Instagram</a></u></p><p><u><a href=\"https://www.tiktok.com/@audreyhyamsromoff?_r=1&amp;_t=ZS-915uQMBTKwm\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">TikTok</a></u></p><p><u><a href=\"https://www.facebook.com/people/Audrey-Hyams-Romoff/61558979605385/?mibextid=LQQJ4d\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Facebook</a></u></p><p><u><a href=\"https://www.linkedin.com/in/audrey-hyams-romoff-b0b6985/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">LinkedIn</a></u></p><p><u><a href=\"https://www.youtube.com/@AudreyHyamsRomoff\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">YouTube</a></u></p><p>Book: Audrey Hyams Romoff - <u><a href=\"https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GHPCJDJD?lv=shuf&amp;channelId=500&amp;plpRedirect=mhFallback\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">The Undertow of Grief: Navigating Intergenerational Trauma</a></u></p><p><br></p><p>Let&#39;s Connect: </p><p><u><a href=\"https://lovingandlivingyourwaythroughgrief.com/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Website</a></u></p><p><u><a href=\"https://www.linkedin.com/in/emily-thiroux-threatt/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">LinkedIn</a></u></p><p><u><a href=\"https://www.facebook.com/Loving-and-Living-Your-Way-Through-Grief-105623437708464\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Facebook</a></u></p><p><u><a href=\"https://www.instagram.com/emily_thiroux_threatt/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Instagram</a></u></p><p><u><a href=\"https://twitter.com/ThreattEmily\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Twitter</a></u></p><p><u><a href=\"https://www.pinterest.com/emilythirouxthreatt/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Pinterest</a></u></p><p><u><a href=\"https://www.griefandhappiness.com/pl/2147539051\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">The Grief and Happiness Alliance</a></u></p><p>Book: Emily Thiroux Threatt - <u><a href=\"https://www.amazon.com/Loving-Living-Your-Though-Grief/dp/1642504823/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Loving and Living Your Way Through Grief</a></u></p>","author_name":"Emily Thiroux Threatt"}
