As often happens in these types of scenarios, scenarios one doesn't really write down if you know what I mean, the gang needs to get out of town and let things cool off a bit. Plus, the OT and the rest of the government have been finding resistance bases in the city so going to an out of town safe spot just makes good sense. At least until a certain head of state's death is more easily dealt with.
