Adventures is back! And we've got our friend Raz Godelnik all the way from NYC as a guest, with a deep-dive into circular design, sustainable business, Net Zero and much more. Raz is an Associate Professor at the Parsons School of Design at The New School in NYC and we are fortunate enough to meet him all across Europe at the various New Business Model Conferences that always have impeccable taste in cities! (Hola, San Sebastian! Salut, Toulouse! Ciao, Roma!) Sadly, we didn't get to visit Raz when we recently roamed the streets of New York, but we catch up in this conversation, where we start out by talking all things circularity. Raz talks about the design principles that drive circularity and sustainability and how he works with his students on these issues. We talk about circular(ish)-ness, the McDonaldization of the circular economy and Raz's book (which isn't quite as new as Lars Jacob, with his completely absent brain, would have it). Raz explains why he is sceptical to Net Zero goals, we compare the circular economy of Europe and the US, Raz admits that the sustainability people are no longer the cool kids on the block and we look forward to meet again - whether at the New Business Models Conference in other delicious cities or on the streets of NYC soon(ish).
