The central team delivers the education side of the partnership, which is also made up of the four local authorities, South Yorkshire Police, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue and Highways England.


Our aim is simple: to reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured on our county’s roads through education, training and publicity.

As well as an annual campaign calendar, we work with schools, colleges, businesses and fellow training providers to offer a wide range of learning opportunities to help people stay safer on the road.


All our education packages are bespoke and based on casualty statistics for South Yorkshire.

Our team also attends community events to engage directly with members of the public on a range of topics from drink driving to speeding.

This is all underpinned by campaigns on our social media platforms, out of home advertising and work with our local media outlets.

We are only one part of SYSRP. Our partners, South Yorkshire Police, are responsible for road safety enforcement and our colleagues at Barnsley, Doncaster, Sheffield and Rotherham Councils, provide engineering solutions.
