Today, we’re bringing on a longtime friend of mine, one that I admire and respect, David Duong. Since we’ve known each other, I’ve watched David continuously find himself in new situations. Where he starts off disadvantaged compared to his peers. Instead of shying away, David always embraces the challenge. Through a combination of grit, resourcefulness, and generosity, he always finds a way to persevere. And ultimately, find wins in a situation in ways that I could never imagine.
Today, David is the Director of Product Management for Apex Legends. Apex Legends is a free-to-play first-person shooter, battle royale game, with over 70 million players worldwide. Prior to Apex Legends, David was the product manager or brand manager for blockbuster games such as Blizzard’s Hearthstone, Call of Duty, Skylanders, and Crash Bandicoot.
As someone who, growing up, wasn’t given the tools to navigate a large corporation, David had to figure things out on his own. Over the years, I’ve watched him enter each new organization, always the underdog. Pushing through resistance to influence change and make a substantial impact. All while gaining the respect of everyone around him.
