The track listings, titles, and credits are for the most part unreliable in-jokes with numerous RSO associates credited as well as folks like \"Rev. Jimmy Jones,\" \"The Gibblet Brothers\", and even Mavis Staples. In addition to the long spoken \"humorous\" part, there are parodies of Bee Gees songs including \"I Started A Joke\" and \"Holiday\", with new lyrics telling a preposterous version of the Stigwood story. Presumably this was recorded on August 7, 1978, at Criteria. ⁣ ⁣

The label reads \"The Stigwood Orchestra Plays 1001 Golden Memories For You\" and lists this as \"Vol. 15\", but these are more jokes and bear no relation to the contents of the record.”⁣ ⁣

So basically it’s a Christmas gift for Robert Stigwood featuring his cohorts roasting him. Clearly made by a bunch of (allegedly) coked up record executives. It is filled with company in-jokes, but some of them work today if you know your RSO Records and Robert Stigwood history. I promised on my Instagram I would digitize it and make it available, so here it is!

Thanks to http://www.spikesrecordrack.com in the Catskills, NY for getting this record to me and knowing it would be in the right hands! ⁣

I'm not really a YouTuber, but this needed to be on YouTube! Oddly, this is actually in YouTube's copyright system! I don't really monetize any of my videos, but the fact that this record that was probably only given out to RSO employees is in the CONTENT ID system?! What the heck?!

No problem, like I said, I'm not a professional YouTuber. That's why you're here on the Patreon!

Simply enjoy this gift of RSO Records history! It must've been a riot for people to get this in 1978. Does it hold up in 2021? I don't know. I didn't work for The Robert Stigwood Organization in the 70's. I was born in 1979 and I'm just a big fan of what they accomplished... both their successes and their failures.

This is also available on YouTube if you want to check out the labels and artwork: https://youtu.be/MUUXCHRzrGQ
","author_name":"Jake Fogelnest Exclusive Patreon Podcast!"}
