Chris Dawson and Russell Dilday interview NRCHA Professional Horsewoman, Veronica Swales. Veronica was born and raised with two older brothers in the rolling hills of Longview, Alberta. Her parents trained hunter/jumpers, pleasure horses, and worked cattle. She started showing before she could even walk, and by the time she was 6 years old, Veronica was showing cutting horses in youth classes. Veronica has competed in hunter/jumpers, pleasure horses, barrel racing, team roping, and cutting. When Veronica was 13, she started showing in the working cow horse in 2000. Veronica worked under her older brother John Swales, learning and honing her skills, developing her own training technique. Veronica's main focus has been in the reined cow horse, barrel racing, and cutting. She has competed in everything from the World's Greatest Horseman to the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity.
