Andrew Threadgold sits down with Dodge Woodall to share how a 20-year career in medicine came to an abrupt end after he was investigated by the General Medical Council, and how what seemed like the worst moment of his life ultimately set him on the path to building a multi-million-pound property empire.
Andrew explains the incident that led to the investigation, after he signed cremation paperwork when a second doctor failed to turn up for a funeral. What followed was a referral to the GMC and the end of his career as a doctor. At the time, he thought it was the worst thing that could have happened to him. Looking back, he now sees it as the turning point that changed everything. He talks through how he found his way into property, began building his portfolio and went on to own more than 100 properties.
The conversation explores Andrew's transition from medicine into entrepreneurship, including acquiring GP practices, building a physiotherapy business and developing a portfolio of businesses and property. He shares the lessons he has learned along the way, the opportunities that came from an unexpected career change and how one of the most difficult periods of his life became the beginning of something much bigger.
