His involvement in the film industry began when he was a young child joining his father, acclaimed film producer/editor Sam Pollard. He's edited many acclaimed documentary films including “<a href=\"https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1787797/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Sing Your Song</a>” which premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, “<a href=\"https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6175670/?ref_=nm_flmg_edt_19\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Burn, MF, Burn</a>,\" \"<a href=\"https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10948316/?ref_=nm_flmg_edt_13\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Who Killed Malcom X?</a>\", and most recently - \"<a href=\"https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14622962/?ref_=nm_flmg_edt_9\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Bitchin': The Sound and Fury of Rick James</a>.\" In this episode, Jason talks about his style of editing. He explains the more technical side of working with archives (both where to find them &amp; how they are collected in big scale projects) and how to properly work with still images vs moving images.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>New York History Day is a regional contest for <a href=\"https://www.nhd.org/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>National History Day</strong></a> - a program that provides over half a million students each year the opportunity to excel at historical research, interpretation and creative expression. <em>\"Creating Documentaries &amp; Unearthing Archives\"</em> was executive produced by Shirley Brown-Alleyne.
