Maybe we're dealing with a difficult colleague, or maybe we're deciding whether to accept a job offer. At some point we all turn to a colleague, a mentor, a boss, or a friend for a bit of guidance. And sometimes we get advice when we're not even looking for it. These same people might warn us about things we aren't even aware of. </p>\n<p>At some point, all of us will be called to serve on the other side of the advice equation. Colleagues and friends may come to us for help when they have problems. Our job is to advise, to warn, and to guide them. Whichever side of the equation you're on, there's lots of useful <a href=\"https://www.businessenglishpod.com/category/business-idioms/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Business English idioms</a> for these situations. It's these <a href=\"https://www.businessenglishpod.com/category/business-idioms/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">English idioms</a> for advice and warnings that we'll learn today. </p>\n<p>In the lesson, we'll hear a conversation between two friends. Sheldon is having difficulties at work and is considering quitting his job. His friend Tanya is providing some advice and guidance on Sheldon's situation. She uses many English idioms of advice and warning in their discussion. </p>\n<p><strong>Listening Questions</strong></p>\n<p>1.\tWhat did Tanya previously advise Sheldon to do?<br />\n2.\tWhat does Tanya think Sheldon should do instead of quitting his job?<br />\n3.\tAt the end of the dialog, what does Sheldon say about his own approach?</p>\n<span class=\"no_translate\"><strong>Premium Members: <a href=\"https://www.businessenglishpod.com/learningcenter/Premium2008/content18/BEP330SN-Advice-Idioms1.pdf\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">PDF Transcript</span></a> | <a href=\"https://www.businessenglishpod.com/learningcenter/Premium2008/content18/BEP330QIZ/presentation.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Quizzes</span></a> | <a href=\"/learningcenter/Premium2008/content18/BEP330PC.mp3\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">PhraseCast</span></a> | <a href=\"https://www.businessenglishpod.com/learningcenter/Premium2008/content18/BEP330POD/index.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Lesson Module</a></strong></span><p>The post <a href=\"https://www.businessenglishpod.com/2018/10/09/bep-330-business-english-idioms-for-giving-advice-warnings-1/\" target=\"_blank\">BEP 330 - English Idioms for Giving Advice and Warnings (1)</a> first appeared on <a href=\"https://www.businessenglishpod.com/\" target=\"_blank\">Business English Pod :: Learn Business English Online</a>.</p><img src=\"http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/BusinessEnglishPod/~4/UXjJKAtSBF0\" height=\"1\" width=\"1\" alt=\"\"/>","author_name":"www.BusinessEnglishPod.com"}
