Cardiff's bubbliest, most energetic and irreverent punk rockers Panic Shack dropped one of my favourite debut albums last year with their self-titled album. Covering lyrical ideas as far ranging as women's trouser pockets, running personal bests, buying toothpaste, eating disorders and working class roots, all with a sense of fierce fun and their tongue firmly in cheek, the album felt like a celebration of life and like a night out in Cardiff put down on tape. It's why even the album cover was shot at the City Arms pub in Cardiff.
Now on their first headline tour of North America, singer Sara and bassist Em joined me to talk all things album, blowing up on TikTok, being a working class band at a time it is becoming increasingly harder to do so, Welsh music and so much more!
