This Gothic poem was composed among the forlorn ruins of Corregidor Island's abandoned U.S. military base, in Manila Bay. On depopulated Corregidor, the ghosts of the Second World War still breathe. They linger in the shattered buildings, bunkers and haunted Malinta tunnels - scarred fragments of the heaviest conventional bombing of the Pacific conflict.
