From cider production and a cider house, to strawberries and agrotourism, we were extremely interested in asking him questions about how he manages his business. Diversity is an inherent part of agroforestry systems, so understanding how farms manage a variety of productions is key. We then zoom in on how he integrates turkeys and apple trees, analysing the various benefits he has observed, such as reduced insect problems, better leaf decomposition and reduced weed pressure. Garrett is very satisfied with his silvopastural system, so tune in to find out why! </p><p><strong>• TABLE OF CONTENTS</strong></p><p>01:45 Intro to the Good Life Farm: story, context, production&nbsp;</p><p>17:05 Selling diversity&nbsp;</p><p>23:50 Direct selling and U-pick&nbsp;</p><p>33:45 Transformation as a sales strategy&nbsp;</p><p>39:05 Integrating turkeys in the orchard: understanding the system&nbsp;</p><p>51:10 Impact of turkeys on leaf decomposition and weed pressure&nbsp;</p><p>60:20 Turkeys’ impact on pest and diseases&nbsp;</p><p>01:05:20 Turkey’s impact on orchard management costs&nbsp;</p><p>01:07:10 Turkey scratching&nbsp;</p><p>01:11:20 Challenges integrating turkeys&nbsp;</p><p>01:14:45 Scaling the system&nbsp;</p><p><strong>• RESOURCES</strong></p><p><a href=\"https://www.instagram.com/flxciderhouse/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">https://www.instagram.com/flxciderhouse/</a></p><p><a href=\"http://www.fingerlakesciderhouse.com/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.fingerlakesciderhouse.com/</a></p><p><strong>• GET IN TOUCH&nbsp;</strong><a href=\"https://www.regenerativeagroforestry.org/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">www.regenerativeagroforestry.org</a></p><p><strong>• SUPPORT US</strong>&nbsp;<a href=\"https://gumroad.com/regenagroforestry\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">www.gumroad.com/regenagroforestry</a></p><p><strong>• FOLLOW US</strong>&nbsp;on&nbsp;<a href=\"https://twitter.com/Regagroforestry\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Twitter</a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.facebook.com/RegenerativeAgroforestry\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Facebook</a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.linkedin.com/company/regenerativeagroforestry\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">LinkedIn</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.instagram.com/regenerativeagroforestry/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Instagram</a></p><p><br></p>","author_name":"Dimitri Tsitos & Etienne Compagnon "}
